We are driven to increase our knowledge and safeguard our planet. To offer flexibility and
functionality in our solutions, it is key for us to consider all parties worldviews and motivations in a collaborative way.
With bio-retention media we can’t operate in isolation, relying solely on having the right specification, media premix, or device installation. Success depends on everyone, including the community, to understand not just the need but the function of raingardens and other devices.
You can do everything right, and then through lack of understanding, a local contractor flushes out his concrete truck into the rain garden and the whole thing has failed.
We turn knowledge into practical solutions across the industry and broader community. Using research driven modelling we have created a platform to mitigate industry challenges and deliver optimal outcomes. ScapeSpec platform links site specific variables, specification, media creation, installation, assessment and maintenance.
We’ve achieved this goal by working together as a team and collaborating with clients like you to create the best possible results.Meet our team
Dean loves dirt! He has lived landscape supplies and quarrying since he was 14.
On holiday you’ll find everyone else looking at the view and Dean looking at the ground or picking up soil and commenting on rocks.
He is driven to create sustainable landscape solutions that harness his knowledge of product and supply and leverage technology to enhance quality and collaboration throughout the industry.
Always interested in learning and understanding the technical and scientific aspects of products and outcomes, his recent focus has been on the development of site specific high performing bio-retention media. He envisioned the ScapeSpec system to meet a need for more touchpoints between stakeholders, as well as a robust quality assurance and control process that not only made production easier but also ensured effective outcomes.

Motivated by a love of science, Amir has spent the past decade researching environmental fields to understand the fate and transport of pollutants. If you can’t find him in the office, he might be in the lab playing in the dirt as he did in his childhood!
A PhD candidate in Geochemistry at the University of Waikato, Amir is the mastermind behind ScapeSpec’s geotechnic lab, constantly refining our QA/QC processes. He finds data in all shapes and forms to devise practical solutions. He is confident managing multi-disciplinary projects and developing all sorts; such as monitoring and remediation toolkits.
